Project Sweet Stuff was established in 2010 as a website dedicated to the journey of a passionate cake decorator. But things changed when Editor Viola Bechara decided that she had so much more to share. From stories of travel and recipes from her childhood, to motherhood and traveling solo with a toddler, this sweet journey has been rich, diverse and wonderfully paved… and we’re inviting you along for the next part of the ride.
Viola Marie - Editor
Viola Marie Bechara is a Sydney based mother, writer, cake decorator, food enthusiast and frequent jet setter. Formerly the Editor of The Journal Magazine Australia, Viola relishes the opportunity to explore the little curiosities that she defines as the sweet life. So far, nothing has been sweeter and more satisfying than bringing her son Xavier along for the ride. With a background in Visual Arts and English Education, Viola is enjoying the early days of solo motherhood while writing, visual styling and producing fine party cakes for party planners all over Sydney.
Having been mentored by the talented team at Faye Cahill Cake design, Viola has travelled to USA to teach the Australian cake decorating method at Baking Arts in one of her favourite cities, San Francisco. In recent years, Viola has hosted multiple events in Los Angeles aimed at fostering networking opportunities for women with an entrepreneurial spirit. Back and forth between Sydney and California, Viola is a firm believer that travelling is not something that one can simply ‘get out’ of their system, Viola credits her accomplishments to hours of research, planning and her insatiable desire to experience life. For Viola, staying stagnant is never an option.
