My countdown is drawing to an exciting exciting end - in only a few days, I'll be heading over to the state of California to kick off a 7-week hunt for the best American eats, sleeps and sweet experiences. While I’d love to be your inspiration compass for all things USA, I thought I’d better share the love.

This weekend, Discover the Americas Travel Expo is on here in Sydney before hitting the road for Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne. For anyone hoping to visit the Americas over the next year, I think that this is definitely one of the best places to start.

At the expo, you’ll be spoilt for choice and inspiration as hundreds of exhibitors will be set up especially to showcase their offerings. It’s a rare opportunity to have access to specials and deals all of the best travel vendors in Australia where you can compare, research and book all under one roof – sure you can do that online, but at least at this expo, you’ll get to have real time conversations with people who travel for a living.
