FROM THE STREETS - International Street Art Exhibition Sydney

Who? For the street art lover What? From the Streets; a major new international exhibition celebrating the raw creativity of street art, kicking off with a live street art event. When? This Saturday the 22nd of March Where? .M Contemporary Gallery located at 37 Ocean Street, Woollahra, Sydney. Why? To catch a glimpse of a rare moment in Australian street art history.

In a past life, I was a high school visual arts teacher. Aside from amazing people, food and travelling, nothing moves me more than powerful imagery. So on the rare occasion we hear about an amazing exhibition, I feel compelled to share the info here, especially for those who might be inclined to dabble in a little exhibition action...

The lowdown: Sydney’s newest commercial art gallery is bringing works by some of the most-exciting street artists from around the world and Australia to Sydney. Woollahra based .M Contemporary is creating a buzz in the art world with a major new street art exhibition, which reflects the raw creativity and craftsmanship of cutting-edge artists in Australia and across the globe. Running 22 March to 27 April, From the Streets opens with a live public art making event on 22 March featuring some of Australia’s most prominent street artists co-presented with aMBUSH gallery. Featuring leading street artists from North and South America, Europe, and Australia, the exhibition also highlights the diversity of genres and practices that artists employ on the streets. From the Streets is made up of new and existing works by vastly different artists.
