WHAT'S YOUR SWEET LIFE?
For the first time in my life, I had a bright idea and chose not to wait 5 years before actually making it happen. You see, like most girls, I have a habit of second-guessing myself, writing lists of pros and cons, and sometimes turning myself off what could be the best thing I’d ever do.
Not this year.
During my US travels late last year, I had the pleasure of getting to know someone who had me feeling like we’d known each other for years after a few days of hanging out. What started off as an Instagram like, turned into a follow, and eventually became a real time meeting. It was only then that we realised how much we had in common. Creative chameleon Lilit Caradanian is a makeup expert based in Los Angeles California who left behind a career in finance and numbers in pursuit of makeup and colours. We both left behind the sensible degree and profession for the unpredictable creative life – and when you’re working alone, that can be pretty scary.
I clearly recall a conversation we had that was the catalyst of this project...
We spoke about our backgrounds, our plans and how we plan on getting where we want to be. We gave each other advice and naturally made plans help each other out on particular projects. Then, it clicked. It only took a real time, face-to-face conversation with someone who lives on the other side of the world to make me realise that for a long time, I’ve underestimated the power of real conversation with determined people, who actually want to see you do well.
So here it is…
Tomorrow I'm flying back to Lilit’s hometown of Los Angeles to prepare for a special event that’s taking place on the 29th of January. Together, we’re hosting an evening of bites, delights and conversation with an intimate group of inspiring women, and it’s all built on the conversation starter - what’s your sweet life?
With huge thanks and gratitude to evo hair for getting behind this event by sponsoring us, we’re setting up a unique and intimate networking opportunity for bloggers and sweet seekers from California, New York and beyond. 2015 isn’t the year for second-guessing ourselves. This year, it’s all about hard work, drive, and spending time with people who support and celebrate the sweet life journey.
And we're only just getting started.
