The Venus Cafe at The Stables Surry Hills

Lately, my mornings have been getting earlier and my nights, later. I've been squeezing in early breakfast meetings, lunch catch ups, and then spending the rest of the day sifting through everything else that needs to be taken care of. No complaints from me though! There's something really nice about early morning catch ups - whether it's work or social. In yesterday's case, it was a bit of both. I caught up with Annalise, a wonderful girl who I got to know when I relaunched PSS last year. We met for breakfast at The Venus Cafe situated inside the well known creative hub, The Stables in Surry Hills.

The Venus Cafe is the result of a collaboration with Venus Whole Foods who have recently taken up the cafe residence at The Stables. Throughout the winter months, The Stables and Venus Whole Foods will be offering Surry Hills locals a carefully curated range of healthy options such as smoothies, cold press juices and salads. The nutritious smoothies by Venus are dairy and gluten free. So far, the fittingly named smoothie, 'Cloud 9' is already proving to be a popular breakfast option with locals and visitors alike.

The seating in this cafe is limited as the space it quite small. Great for a 2 person catch up, Annalise and I spoke about all things PSS and the exciting new places we'll be visiting this year. As much as I wanted to try a green juice, I'm having my wisdom teeth removed this saturday. All of 4 of them. So considering the fact that I will be consuming all my meals through a straw for a good week, I decided to order something substantial with a good coffee to suit. Annalise ordered avocado on toast, and I ordered the Venus Breakfast Plate. Clean, zesty and wholesome, the ingredients were fresh and bursting with flavour.

Perhaps I might stop by on Sunday... the green juice might make the perfect lunch for a girl who can't chew.
